Together with the WNY Women’s Foundation, the Health Foundation for Western and Central New York will host “Pathways to School Readiness” from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Frank E. Merriweather Library, 1324 Jefferson Ave., Buffalo, NY. Registration begins at 8:45 a.m.

Based on the WNY Women’s Foundation’s Pathways to Progress Vol. 2 Report, the event will focus on the barriers and opportunities facing girls from birth to age 9 in our community. A panel of experts will discuss how we can support young girls in our community to ensure they are physically, socially and emotionally healthy and ready to enter school.

Panelists include Gellenia Smallwood, parent center coordinator, Say Yes to Education Buffalo; Lynn Pullano, director, Help Me Grow WNY; Mickey Sperlich, Ph.D., assistant professor, School of Social Work, State University of New York at Buffalo; and Whitney Mendel, Ph.D., assistant professor of public health, Daemen College.
