Child Development and Developmental Screening

Help Me Grow

Developmental Milestones

Developmental milestones are skills a child learns like taking their first steps, saying their first words, or waving goodbye. Children reach milestones in how they play, learn, speak, act, and move. Observing how and when a child does these kinds of things will provide clues about his or her development. While all children are different, and some will do things faster or slower than others, it’s important that families and those who work with them are aware of how children are progressing. That way, we can help families celebrate their parenting successes, encourage family actions that promote their children’s development, and help identify when additional resources may be needed to keep a child growing healthy and strong.

You Help Families Develop. Let Us Help You.

Organizations like yours have professional knowledge that is critical in helping families. Yet, not all service agencies have expertise in early child development or the resources to track children’s milestones. Help Me Grow specialists are here as a resource to you when the families you serve are expecting children or have children under age 6. We can support you by providing free developmental milestone screenings for young children, providing information about child development for expectant or parenting families, and making sure connections to needed child resources in the community happen. With one contact to Help Me Grow, you can plug into an entire network of early childhood organizations that work to ensure all children have the supports they need to realize their full potential.

We can help your organization conduct an early childhood developmental screening and follow-up program.  This will enable those you serve to better connect with the information and resources they need to thrive. CONTACT US TO FIND OUT MORE!
