Stronger Families Mean Stronger, Healthier Children
Every family needs help at times to support their growing child, and health care providers can’t do it all. Some children need early intervention services through IDEA Parts B or C. Others need food, clothing, or safe environments. All young children and their families can benefit from helpful resources like quality early learning experiences, healthy nutrition information, social connections, and parent support. Help Me Grow builds a powerful community resource network to strengthen families, promote child well-being, and address social determinants of health and trauma.

Promote Child & Family Resilience With the 5 Protective Factors
Child health providers are in a unique position to promote protective factors among families that support child development and buffer the impact of toxic stress. Five family protective factors have been identified by the Center for the Study of Social Policy as important in advancing children’s healthy development, lessening the effects of toxic stress and adverse childhood experiences, and increasing children’s resiliency. These five factors are part of the Strengthening Families™ initiative, which aligns with the Help Me Grow approach.
